FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN

The National Diamondback Pharmacy Alumni Council (NDPAC), formerly the National Florida A&M University Pharmacy Alumni Council, is a 501c3 educational organization comprised primarily of FAMU pharmacy graduates and their supporters. The NDPAC works closely with the FAMU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FAMU COPPS) to help support its programs and activities for students and staff, and enabling the FAMU COPPS' role as a "Center of Excellence."

The NDPAC accepts personal checks, MasterCard, Visa and Stock Gifts as forms of payment for pledges or donations to the Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (FAMU COPPS).  Payments can be made easily and automatically on-line or through the U.S. Postal Service or other delivery means.

The National Individual Giving Programs include:

The Automatic Bank Deduction and PayPal Program:

This program enables supporters to contribute to NDPAC's Annual Campaign through automatic withdrawals from their banks. A contributor establishes a reasonable monthly contribution based on the desired yearly total donation to the campaign. Stock Gifts

Gifts of stock or other appreciated property, entitles the donor to a tax deduction for the market value of the donated stock. If the stock you wish to donate has been held for more than one year, you can avoid capital gains tax on any appreciation of the stock by donating the stock prior to sale. (FAMU COPPS) benefits by selling the stock without paying taxes on the gain, and you benefit from making a contribution that would be larger than what you might have been able to donate in cash.

The FUND-RAISING COMMITTEE

The Fund-raising Committee (FRC)works under the auspices of the Executive Committee to coordinate individual members' and local chapters' fund-raising activities for the NDPAC. Each chapter collaborates with the FRC to establish its annual fund-raising goals, and members may elect to participate in any of the Individual Giving Programs outlines below. The FRC serves as advisory and resource for the chapters and assits in promotion of local fund-raising initiatives.

The FRC occasionally conducts national fund-raising activities of its own from time to time (e.g. Annual Golf Tournement, Raffles, ect.) and solicits participation and support from the chapters. When such initiatives are undertaken, attention to local fund-raising initiatives is paid in order to avoid conflicts when possible.
